Gold Canyon is located in Pinal County just East of Valley. A former cattle ranch it is an unincorporated area designated officially as Gold Camp, but is generally referred to as Gold Canyon after the original resort that forms it nucleus. The median age is over 56 years and the percentage of children is very small, enrollment in the schools is only 200 students and no high school exists. Located near Apache Junction with convenient access to the Superstition freeway, Gold Canyon is convenient to the Valley's major cities. Prices remain fairly reasonable and everything caters to the active adult, retiree and winter visitor.
Gold Canyon condo real estate is a reasonably priced alternative to more expensive age restricted communities and condominiums and while not formally restricted throughout, it is not family or child oriented.
